Useful information belongs where you need it.

A routine in your head is hard for a child to follow. A detail you meant to tell the teacher can get lost at a busy drop-off. The toolkit gives those plans and observations a place to live.

Show what comes next.

Use the illustrated morning page and backpack check together. Your child can see the sequence, while you have a shared reference for the next step.

Choose what is worth practicing.

Use the readiness check-in to notice strengths and support needs. Then choose three useful priorities and connect practice to something your family already does.

Help the teacher know your child sooner.

Record how your child communicates, what they enjoy, and what helps when something is hard. Bring specific information to the conversation about their care and participation.

An example from inside

‘We should work on independence’ becomes a plan.

The ‘Our Three Things’ page asks you to choose a useful skill, name when you can practice it, and write down words you can use together.

Asking for help · During snack, when a container is hard to open · ‘Can you help me?’

Put it to use

Choose an ordinary moment that gives your child a real reason to try. Offer the help they need, and keep the practice small enough to fit your day.

Why this helps

You can move from a broad worry to a specific, repeatable opportunity. The plan also gives another caregiver something clear to follow.

Adapted from ‘How We’ll Practice’ on page 16 and the standalone ‘Our Three Things’ page on page 25.

Before you choose.

Do I need the Parent Guide first?

No. The toolkit includes instructions for using its pages on their own. Choose the Parent Guide if you also want fuller explanations, worked examples, and help thinking through decisions. The complete bundle includes both.

Can I type into the forms?

These PDFs are designed for printing and handwriting. They are not editable or digitally fillable. Print selected pages on US Letter paper at actual size / 100%.

Does the readiness check-in give a score?

No. It helps you notice what your child does, what they are practicing, and where support is useful. Do not add up the boxes. It is not a developmental screening tool or an admission test.

What do I receive?

Two 41-page PDFs with the same content and page numbers: a color edition and a matching low-ink edition, plus a Read Me. The Parent Guide, Parenting Scripts, and play book are sold separately or in the complete bundle. No printed materials are shipped.

Can I use this if my child does not attend Spark Academy?

Yes. These resources are for families everywhere, wherever your child attends preschool. You do not need to enroll at Spark Academy or follow a particular school curriculum.

Can an educator share these pages with families?

One purchase covers one household or one educator and their enrolled classroom families. You may print or privately share the PDFs with those families. Other educators need their own licenses. Do not resell, publicly post, or redistribute outside that group.
